PennFab’s story is built on two long-standing Bucks County manufacturing legacies, both founded on hard work, craftsmanship, and a commitment to getting the job done right.
From PennFab’s beginnings as a family business to Martelli’s growth from a small garage operation into a full-service metal fabrication company, both organizations spent decades building trusted relationships and expanding their capabilities. Today, those histories are coming together under one name: PennFab.
What began as two independent paths now moves forward as one company, combining generations of experience, talented people, extensive facilities, and a shared belief that quality should be evident in every project that leaves the shop.
Martelli Gets its Start
Martelli began as a modest garage-based operation and steadily grew by solving real manufacturing problems for its customers. Over more than four decades, the company expanded into more than 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space in Ivyland, Pennsylvania.
Along the way, Martelli developed a reputation for dependable metal processing and fabrication while adding services such as heavy rolling and forming, sandblasting, industrial painting, assembly, and installation.
PennFab
is Born
On July 28, 1983, Michael J. Mabin founded PennFab with $2,500, a wife and three young children, and a goal of creating a company his family and employees could be proud of.
Mike’s passion for manufacturing began during his service in the United States Coast Guard and followed him home to Bucks County. After gaining experience working for others, he took the leap and built a company of his own—one founded on hard work, quality, and opportunity for generations to come.
Built to Take on More
Over the decades, both companies continued to invest in their people, equipment, facilities, and capabilities.
PennFab grew into a major structural steel manufacturer serving railroad, transportation, infrastructure, manufacturing, and other industries from its 230,000-square-foot Morrisville facility. Martelli built a strong following of repeat customers while expanding its fabrication and finishing capabilities in Ivyland.
Different specialties and different histories, but a common approach: solve problems, stand behind the work, and keep raising the standard.
Two Companies Join Forces
In 2024, Martelli Companies joined Mabin Holdings, the parent company of PennFab. The partnership brought together two established Pennsylvania manufacturing operations and decades of complementary experience.
PennFab’s expertise in structural steel, infrastructure, engineering, and large-scale fabrication combined naturally with Martelli’s metal processing, heavy forming, fabrication, finishing, assembly, and installation capabilities—creating new opportunities to take projects further from initial fabrication through final finishing and delivery.
